EPL Exclusive: Target Talk with Darren Fletcher
Recently I was in Manchester covering the FA Cup Preview Show for World Sport-ESPN. I caught up with Darren Fletcher at Wiliktane (close to Carrington) and thought I would share the conversation with you.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Will Frackhart from Sky, for the writing credits.
SS: Darren, thanks a lot for joining us here for a quick word.

DF: Not a problem.
SS: Darren, your first team opportunities have been restricted this season. How do you feel about it?
DF: I feel…I feel that I've had my share…United is a big club and you've got to fight for a place here. I think this is the place for me. I like it here, I've settled…here now and I know my time will come.
SS: Fletch, [both laugh] what has been the highest point of your career up till now?
DF: Well…I guess leading Scotland is certainly…the goal against Slovenia also is one, but I believe it has been winning the league last season.
SS: Injuries have had an impact on your career. Do you feel you would have been a better player if you had not had them?
DF: Getting injured is a part of football, and every sport really…so you can't do anything about it. My first couple of seasons here [at Manchester United] have been hit by injury. It gets frustrating but good players bounce back and fight for their place. Like Scholesy has this season.
SS: How do you spend any time you get off?
DF: With the boys. Jack and Tyler take up quite a bit of my time [laughs]. Even when we are not training, we [Man. U. teammates] are together. Michael, Sheasy, and the others. We do get together quite often and I feel it reflects on how close we are at Manchester United.
SS: Darren we would not want to take up too much of your time. Thanks for talking to us.
